Notes:
This date was struck by the Sydney Mint on Indian obverse dies provided by Melbourne in 1920. Most examples show evidence of being struck on heavily deteriorating dies. It is not difficult to acquire in low grade but it is very rare in uncirculated condition. It is possible that these coins were actually struck in 1926 when the Mint was in the throes of closing and was working through its obsolete dies to finish orders. Usable dies including the 'Indian' obverse dies were returned to the Melbourne Mint on the closure of the Sydney Mint and at least one was used in 1927 to strike a small number of 1927 'Indian' obverse pennies.
