Notes:
The majority of the 823,000 coins struck by the Sydney Mint in 1926 are thought to be dated 1924. The Mint was in the throes of closing down and is believed to have called on its store of eleven 1924-dated reverse dies to fill the order. It is estimated that only 176,360 pennies were produced from the three 1926-dated reverse dies it received from Melbourne on September 9th, 1926. The Sydney Mint officially closed its doors on December 31, 1926. At this stage it appears that the Sydney-strikes are indistinguishable from the Melbourne 1926 pennies.
