Notes:
Since the early 2000's, variety collectors have hyped the existence of a '1933/2 Overdate' variety and on a small percentage of coins there is definitely something going on. My opinion is that it is a re-cut '3' as there is clear evidence of the original figure showing through at the back of the '3' and there is also a tail pertruding from the bottom loop of the '3.' However, if you are looking for the shape of a '2' that has been overstruck then it doesn't really fit and it is more that likely a 1933/3 variety.
